Photography: Amazing Roadtrip Nr. 2 – Verbier, Martigny, Grandvaux and Vevey

After our first road trip back in September 2019 where we made a journey from Steg VS to Crans-Montana over the Col du Pillon to Gstaad and over the Col des Mosses back to Valais it was time for our second road trip.

Our initial plan was to travel to the Lake Geneva region but some hundred meters on the Autobahn before Martigny Matt had the idea that we could visit Verbier and after the Fondation Pierre Gianadda in Martigny. So it was a very spontaneous action we’ve made and ca. 30 minutes later we entered one of the World’s best and most famous ski resort. It’s incredible how many beautiful and amazing chalets we’ve seen out of the car. We drove through the village and a bit higher than the center of it we made a stop for a pic nic and just enjoyed the view and made some photos. We planned to drink a coffee at the cool W hotel but it seemed like it was still closed as it was low season there. We saw the famous The Lodge from Sir Richard Branson too and it was a surprise that I recognized the legendary snowboarder Xavier de le Rue on the street when we drove by next the him. So that was our first stop of this road trip

Our second stop was the world famous Fondation Pierre Gianadda in Martigny. It was time to show my buddy Matt this amazing piece of art where the chef d’œuvres susses – Collection Blocher was exhibited and he was looking forward to see the Musée de l’automobile with a world class car collection with Bugattis, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz, Alfa Romeos and more.

So after this beautiful visit we travelled further to the Lac Léman region. In Grandvaux we eat lunch with an outstanding view of the lake. The food was delicious and we had an interesting talk about life.

Our last big stop was in Vevey on the shore of Lac Léman where we made a short walked. It was crazy to see so many people there as the lockdown was just some days earlier finally over. But we have to be careful so that we can enjoy sunny days like these during the summer too.

After a last stop at the petrol station at the Relais du Saint-Bernard in the Martigny region we travelled back to our home base Steg VS.

It was an amazing day where we saw so many great places and things. Thank you very much to the grande maestro Matt for making unforgettable memories together and that he drive so carefully during the whole trip.

It was one for the books. Can’t wait for our next road trip adventure…
