My blog break is finally over and I’m back. It was a special time for all of us and we are happy that normal life is coming step by step back again.
Back at the beginning of January 2020 I had the chance to see the „chefs-d’œuvre suisses-Collection Blocher“ at the Fondation Pierre Gianadda and made a short blog post where I promised when I come back I made another one. So on Saturday, 30th of May 2020 it was a very spontaneous idea to stop by the Fondation Pierre Gianadda when my maestro Matt and I made a roadtrip to the western part of Switzerland. I will upload an extra blog post about this road trip later.
It was great that I could finally show Matt my favorite museum. I couldn’t find a more beautiful exposition and it was cool to finally come back to see it again. We started our tour at the museum with the Musée Gallo-Romain where you can see some really interesting pieces they found in Martigny. Then it was time to see the sculpture Parc with some really interesting trees and the atmosphere there is just perfect to recharge the batteries and enjoy life. After the walk in the park we saw the paintings of Albert Anker and Ferdinand Holder and Swiss artists like Calame, Zünd, Segantini, Buri, Vallotton and more. Finally it was time to see the highlight for Matt and me – the Musée de l’automobile with its unique car collection with Bugattis, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz, Alfa Romeo, Pic Pic, Martini, Hispano-Suiza and even a yellow Isotta-Fraschini 1931.
It was a really amazing experience to come back to see all the great art, cars and sculptures and we really enjoyed our time there.
Can’t wait to come back to this magic place. Hopefully for the Gustave Caillebotte exhibition next year.
Thanks a lot to my buddy Matt for being so spontaneous and this great time!
