Art: La Collection Ordrupgaard (Monet, Cézanne, Renoir, Monet, Matisse, Gauguin…) at the Fondation Pierre Gianadda

On March 9th, 2019 I met my colleague Walter in Visp where we took the train to Martigny, Valais, Switzerland. Arrived at the railway station in Martigny it was time for a walk to the main square called „Place Centrale“. There we enjoyed a tasty lunch at the bakery Zenhäusern and talked about our passion for art.

At the Fondation Pierre Gianadda we saw the whole exhibition „Trésors impressionists“ with amazing art of French impressionnistes like Monet, Cézanne, Renoir, Matisse, Degas, Gauguin and more. We also had a look to the Collection Stefanini with paintings from Albert Anker, Ferdinand Holder and more. At the end of our visit we enjoyed the Musée L’automobile with some incredible cars like Bugatti Model 45 Little Royal, Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost 1923, Mercedes Benz SS  and more. Especially a car called Isotta-Fraschini 8A 1931 is truly amazing.

Every visit of this museum is interesting and exciting. Last year the Fondation Pierre Gianadda celebrated its 40th anniversary and welcomed over 10 million visitors since its opening. So if you like art, architecture, cars, photography or nature (there is a park with sculptures, different trees and even a little pond with ducks outside) then you will be impressed after your visit.  A visit that could became a new discovery and great experience.

Thank you very much to Walter for a great day in Martigny and can’t wait for the next art adventure.
