Today was a really amazing day…

Back in December 2017, when my Buddy Matthias and I got a drink in our favourite tea-room in our home town, we discussed the idea that we could visit my homeresort Lauchernalp at the end of January or at the beginning of February 2018

As the weather forecast was perfect for today we decided to turn our plan into reality.

After a short night ( I was so nervous as Roger Federer played his 30th Grand Slam Final at the Australian Open today and couldn’t slept at night till 2.30am) I woke up around 10am…

At 11.20am I met Matthias and we travelled by bus to Wiler (Lötschental) where we took the cable cars and gondola to the top of Lauchernalp, an epic place called Hockenhorngrat at 3111 Meters above sea level. The view is just outstanding there. mountain peaks everywhere, you get a feeling like you are in a winter paradise. We made some snapshots and then we went back to Gandegg where we enjoyed a first drink and clink glasses on Roger Federer’s 20th Grand Slam win.

Around 2.30 we eat lunch at the Restaurant Wildi and we were happy to enjoy the sun and some interesting talks. The walk back to the cable car mountain station was short but the scenery there was so epic that we shot photos all the way down.

Before we took the bus back home, we had a last energy stop at the Restaurant Sporting in Wiler where we eat really delicious food…

At 7.30pm we arrived happy and thankful back home in Steg…

Thank you very much to my Buddy Matthias for an amazing day in a winter paradise with memories for a lifetime… and Roger Federer for all the unforgettable emotions!
