This was one of the best trips I’ve ever done. Rome and the Vatican were on my bucket list for a long time and last weekend I finally got the chance to see it.
As the church choir of my home village Steg VS has its 100 years jubilee this year they organized a journey to Rome. I had the opportunity to join them on this amazing travel.
On Friday, August 12 we had to be at the church place at an early time. Around 6am we head to Italy with our awesome bistro-liner bus. In the Florence-region we made our first stop and eat a more or less delicious lunch. After a nice but long ride we arrived in Rome in the early evening and went directly to our Hotel. The situation of our Hotel Conciliazione was perfect. In just 5 min you reached the world famous St. Peter’s square and basicila in the middle of the Vatican City. Later we enjoyed our dinner at the Restaurant Satiricus. I really liked that restaurant with all the busts of presidents like Obama, Putin, Berlusconi, Queen Elizabeth II and more.
On Saturaday, August 13 2016, we had a really nice guide with us who showed us perfectly this amazing city. We saw the Vatican museums, the St. Peter’s basicila and square, the Sistine Chapel, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish stairs. It was a great and hot day I will never forget.
On Sunday, August 14 2016, we had a mass at the church of the Saint Cecilia and had the possibility to sang some songs in the crypt of this church. It was a magical atmosphere there for sure. Later in the afternoon we saw the gigantic Colosseum, the Lateral church, the Circus Maximus and more amazing places of the magnificent Rome. I hope to go back soon again.
On Monday, August 15 2016, it was time to say goodbye to one of my favourite cities. After a short-felt bus ride we luckily reached our home village Steg VS in the evening. Everybody was glad to be a part of this memorable journey.
Thanks to all the people of this trip who made it unforgettable.
