Concerts: Daughter

Yesterday was the third and final part of our Montreux Jazz Festival Tour 2016. My journey started in Visp where I took the train to Montreux. My buddy Werni joined me in Aigle and after ca. 15 min. we reached our destination. After a short walk at the lake we stopped by the Holy Cow Gourmet Burger stand and eat some delicious burgers and french fries. Then it was time for some music again. The first act at the Lab was Haelos and they played an easy trip-hop set. The opening song was the best song for me as the other songs sounded a bit too monotonous. Their music is perfect to hear when you travel by car or by train. The second act of the evening was the british band „Daughter“. I’ve already seen them at the Montreux Jazz Festival as they were the support act for Ben Howard. Daughter plays music for the heart. The voice of their lead singer Elena Tonra is one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard. They played some great indie-rock songs and some slowly songs too. Werni told me that their guitarist Igor Haefeli was born in Switzerland and he attended London’s Institute of Contemporary Music Performance where he met Tonra during a songwriting course. It was a great concert to end our MJF Tour 2016. We hope to be back next year for the 51. edition.
