It was concert-time this weekend. My buddy Werni joined me this time again for another great concert. After a two-hour-travel by train and a short walk we finally reached our concert-location. The Dynamo is a cool place on the shore of the River Limmat and you find a chill atmosphere with young people there.
After seeing Nada Surf at the Open Air Gampel some years ago it was time to see this band again. We were a bit surprised when we arrived at the location where the concert took place and almost no one was there. The people enjoyed some drinks in front of the Dynamo and came just in time for the support act. Farewell Dear Ghost is a young indie-pop band from Vienna, Austria and was founded back in 2013. They really rocked the place with some fast, powerful songs. The only downer of their concert was the drummer. He really knows how to play the drums but he act like a stupid little clown. For us swiss people he was same friendly as the Austrian skier Marcel Hirscher. They will have a great future as band but hopefully with a more serious drummer. 30 minutes later the support act closed their concert. It was time for a break.
Then the old guys from Nada Surf took over the stage. Nada Surf is a alternative rock band from New York. The band was formed in 1992 by Matthew Caws and Daniel Lorca. Their first Drummer Dan was replaced by Aaron Conte. In 1995 Conte left the band and Ira Elliot came into the band. In 2012 Doug Gillard joined the band. These guys know what they are doing and played a really cool concert. The crowd was going nuts at the end of the concert and my buddy Werni and me were happy after a really long concert with unbelievable 23 songs.
Another awesome concert we really enjoyed. More coming soon…
